I started out by naming some books that are staples in the YA genre but books I wouldn't want to read, like If I Stay. I'm sure it's fantastic but I stay away from realistic fiction because when I read I want to be transported into another world entirely. I live life and when I read I'm looking for a break from reality. That being said, I'm also interested in reading books that are going to be movies so I've included John Green's book The Fault in Our Stars.

1. The Fault in Our Stars--I have no good excuse for not reading this. Before I realized John Green was a writer I followed his blog as a "nerd-fighter."
2. Quarantine- Because, zombies.
3. Throne of Glass--Fantasy. YA. Perfect for me. Why haven't I picked it up yet??
4. Amity--I love everything horror. I was in the middle of reading The Fall and it was super, super depressing. I'm worried that this book will be just as dismal. Horror doesn't have to be depressing. Sure, there's very few smiles and many, many unfortunate happenstances but I read horror for the fear it evokes. The books that make me lock my door, close my curtains, and bring my dog into my room.
5. Fallen--Just looks pretty freakin' awesome.

6. Monument 14--I've read the second and third book because the first wasn't available and never got around to reading the first. I can't say whether or not I'll actually ever get around to reading it.
7. Book 13 of A Series of Unfortunate Events--I stopped reading this near the end of eight grade and I never got into it. I'm just assuming something unfortunate happens to the children. Should I continue reading?
8. The Finishing Series by Gail Carriger. I've read the first book but I never moved forward with it. I've gotten into Steampunk in the past year and can't read enough of it. Gail Carriger wrote the Parasol Proctorate, an adult Steampunk series that I absolutely love.
9. Tamora Pierce's recent books-- The first author I discovered when I moved on to YA books from elementary school. I grew out of her but The Song of the Lioness will always hold a dear spot in my heart. I have no excuse for not continuing her books. I'm sure I'd love the shit out of them. I need to get my ass in gear!
10. Clariel--the newest book in the Abhorsen series. It was one of the first books I remember reading when I was in middle school. I loved loved loved this series but I keep putting off reading it because I don't remember the first three and I don't feel much like re-reading them anytime soon.

Great list! I love TFIOS (who doesn't?). Most of the other books on your list are on my TBR pile. I'll get to them someday!
